Vetting
All dogs will receive parvo/disptemper vaccine, deworming, spay/neuter and rabies vaccine. The first vaccination is typically done at the time of intake; second and third vaccines are completed three weeks apart and scheduled by the Vaccination Coordinator. An email notification is sent one week in advance of the appointment with all the relevant information.
Spay or neuter is scheduled after six months of age. The Spay/Neuter Coordinator books the appointment. The appointment isn’t necessarily scheduled at six months of age, depending on how many dogs in care are requiring surgery. Do not be concerned when your foster dog turns six months but does not have an appointment scheduled.
Remember puppies and adult dogs cannot go to the dog park or on walks until they are fully vaccinated.
